What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the photo format iPhones use by default. It keeps good quality in a small file, but many websites and older computers can’t open it.

Why does the iPhone use HEIC?

It stores photos at about half the size of a JPG with similar quality, so your phone holds more pictures.

Why convert HEIC to JPG?

JPG works everywhere — forms, email, Windows, job sites and government portals that reject HEIC uploads.

Does converting HEIC reduce image quality?

We save your JPG at high quality and keep the original size and orientation, so the difference is hard to see.

Can I compress the JPG after converting it?

Yes. Tap “Compress JPG” after converting and pick a size like 1 MB or 2 MB — no need to upload again.

Your photo never leaves your device.

HEIC conversion and compression happen directly in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
